While growing up in Minneapolis, Elizabeth V. Bauer frequently visited her aunt, Elizabeth Ramsey, whom she was named after. During one of their visits, her aunt had to take Elizabeth to a trial due to an emergency. It was then, while listening to her aunt argue the client's case, that Elizabeth realized she wanted to be a lawyer too.
Elizabeth went on to attend the University of Minnesota and learned to appreciate different world views by earning her BA with a major in Anthropology and a minor in Child Psychology. She received her Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law and passed the Minnesota and Michigan bar exams two weeks apart in 1974.
Elizabeth achieved her dream of joining her aunt's law firm in 1977. At the time, Ramsey & Bauer Attorneys at Law was the first all-female law firm in Michigan. Sadly, Elizabeth's aunt passed away from breast cancer in 1980, cutting their law practice together quite short.
Over time, Elizabeth has come to be known for her caring approach to law. Her clients can count on her compassionate and empathetic attitude, especially when they have experienced the loss or illness of a loved one.
Elizabeth met her now-husband, Thomas Bauer, on a blind date in 1970. The couple got married 3 years later. Together Elizabeth and Thomas have 2 children, Nathan and Jessica, and currently enjoy their 3 beautiful, well-behaved grandchildren.
Faith-life has always been important to the Bauers. Since 1980, the family has attended First Baptist Church in Plainwell where Elizabeth sings in the choir. Elizabeth enjoys being a member of the Church Life Committee and Thomas enjoys leading small-group Bible studies in their home.
With over 35 years' experience in law, Elizabeth has helped clients with a wide range of legal situations from divorce, custody battles, to the loss or illness of a loved one. She is known for being a caring attorney and counselor.
Elizabeth ensures her clients are provided the right amount of time to discuss their concerns, needs, and desires in order to plan for the future. She believes strongly that the best way to resolve a conflict is to have the parties negotiate together but if that fails, she is an aggressive litigator.
